19 +**Dr. David Creery MD MSc FRCPC MHSc, (% style="font-weight: normal;" %)Pediatric Intensivist, Medical Director of Patient Safety, is an Intensivist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the Garry Cardiff Wing of CHEO. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Doctor of Medicine in 1989. He completed his Pediatric Residency Training at the University of Ottawa in 1994, followed by a Master’s of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology in 1996. He completed a Critical Care Fellowship at the SickKids Critical Care Unit and became a Pediatric Intensive Care physician at CHEO in July 1998. He was Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care from 2002 to 2015. He completed a Master’s of Health Science in Health Administration from the University of Toronto in 2010. Since 2011, Dr. Creery has served as the Medical Director of Patient Safety for CHEO. Since 2010, Dr. Creery has been an Investigating Coroner for the Ottawa Region. Dr. Creery has participated in and has published research related to his work in Pediatric Intensive Care. He has been involved in publication of research in: Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury, Transfusion Strategies for Patients in Pediatric Intensive Care Units, Respiratory infections in Inuit infants, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Immunodeficiency, HIV, patient care safety improvement initiatives, and Sepsis Syndrome.
