Synopsis

Opportuniites to share and seek best practices in many different areas of infant, child and youth health service delivery continue to be a frequent undertaking of many individuals from CAPHC's member organizations. As a commitment to all our members, CAPHC is pleased to serve as your communication broker, by facilitating many different venues and opportunities to share best practices across our child and youth health community.

Over the past several months, a group of senior financial leaders and health administrators from across Canada have created an informal network with the mandate and vision to share best business and financial practices.  

We would now like to expand the opportunity for sharing best practices across the CAPHC network through quarterly webinars being organized to share and discuss various business and financial practices related to many different patient care topics and experiences. This CAPHC webinar series will be lead by both financial and patient care leaders from across the country who will share and exchange ideas and lessons focused on new and innovative practices aimed at efficiently & effectively managing limited resources.  

The first webinar in this series focuses on Alberta Health Services provincial restructuring strategies; the trials and tribulations; successes; and lessons learned over the past two years. Part of this webinar presentation and subsequent discussion, focused on the impact on paediatric services within a greater provincial system, initiatives that have resulted in systems savings, as well as other areas where efficiencies have been more challenging.

This topic represents a common challenge to a wide variety of healthcare professionals and will be designed to provide “value add” to senior financial officers, health administrators, as well as front line staff.
