Providing peer support for families of children with complex needs: A best practice toolkit

Together with community partners and family leaders, Evidence to Care at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital created the Peer Support Best Practice Toolkit.  This toolkit is a resource for individuals developing and offering peer support programs for families of children with medical complexity and other lifelong disabilities.

The Toolkit includes: an overview of peer models, a summary of a rapid review of the peer support literature, Ontario-based case studies, family stories, resources, templates and links. The toolkit is freely available for download at www.hollandbloorview.ca/peertoolkit

Please join as we provide an overview of how the Toolkit was developed, key content and examples of existing programs. We will showcase how the Toolkit can be used to help inform peer support program development and delivery in a variety of settings.
